Join Andrew Legere, fine art photographer and owner of Legere Fine Art Services, for a two day workshop exploring the philosophy and photography of Edward Weston. Together we will study one of the twentieth century's greatest photographers, examining how simple everyday objects can be transformed into extraordinary works of art through light, form, and careful observation.

Edward Weston believed that beauty was not something added to a photograph, but something waiting to be discovered. Working with subjects as ordinary as peppers, shells, cabbage leaves, flowers, fruit, and driftwood, he demonstrated that remarkable photographs could be made without travelling far from home. His celebrated Pepper No. 30 remains one of photography's most iconic examples of how light and form can transform an everyday object into something timeless.

Event Photos

Our first evening begins with an in studio seminar and live demonstration exploring Weston's creative process. Using continuous light, long exposures, and a variety of simple household subjects, we will experiment with different approaches to lighting and composition. Every technique explored during the evening can be recreated at home using inexpensive equipment and objects found in your own kitchen or garden.

Over the following week you will create your own series of still life photographs. During our second session we will gather for a collaborative critique, discussing approximately ten photographs from each participant before selecting the strongest image for presentation.

Your final photograph will be taken through the complete fine art process before being presented as a museum quality archival print. Thoughtfully proofed, archival mounted, custom matted, and professionally framed in an elegant 8 × 10 inch frame, it becomes more than a photograph. It becomes a finished work of art, worthy of a place in your home, your personal collection, or as a thoughtful gift for someone
