The Creative Garden: Summer Workshops and Activities

Let's create a vibrant oasis above ground where community, creativity and nature flourish! Adults and children are welcome at the workshop days with delicious food from Vegan Bear Chef!

JUNE 16

2PM – 4PM | Plant care for 'Plant Killers' by Marta Golka (EN/NL): Learn to care for your houseplants in a fun and playful way, and plant your own cuttings (baby plants).

2PM – 4PM | [KIDS from 6 years] Find it and paint it! by Ossa Kierkegaard (NL/EN): Take wood and stones and paint them to decorate your garden or balcony.

Followed by a discussion on natural pesticides and fertilizers by Kris Gonzales. (SP/EN)

JULY 14

2PM - 4PM | Build Your Own Interactive Plant by Mark Hinch: Make your own LED moisture sensor and learn to communicate with your plants!

2PM - 4PM | [KIDS 8-10 years] Nature Theater Adventure by Julia Rosenhart: Create characters inspired by garden creatures.

Followed by a discussion on medicinal herbs and teas by Kris Gonzales (SP/EN).

AUGUST 25

2PM - 4PM | The Magic of Nature by Vico Persson: Create collages with images from nature.

2PM - 4PM | [KIDS from 8 years] Nature Printing by Roos Postma: Create beautiful ecological patterns on fabrics with real plants and flowers.

Followed by a discussion on how to protect fruits and vegetables in winter by Vegan Bear Chef.

SEPTEMBER 22

2PM - 4PM | Ink from Plants by Kris Gonzales (SP/EN): Make plant-based ink and paint with it!

2PM - 4PM | [KIDS 6-10 years] Coloured Clay Garden by Helga van Stralen (EN/NL): create a collective garden with coloured clay.

Followed by a discussion about everything you need to know about bees and their care by Jeroen Worst. (EN/NL)

OCTOBER 6

Garden Party! Community celebration with music, a food market & lunch!

12PM - 2PM | Lunch by Vegan Bear Chef.

2PM - 4PM | [KIDS from 10 years] Clay Colour Tiles by Dejana Vuckovic (EN/NL): Print herbs and flowers on ceramic tiles and paint them with colored clay.

2PM - 4PM | The Ecology of Poetry by Kelly Mullins (EN): You will connect with poetry and ecology through a series of individual and collaborative writing prompts.

4PM - 6PM | Music by Treehouse musicians.
