This is an early start, early start finish to make it easy to get back from Canterbury or for anyone that prefers an early night!
This is a return from NUKLI who performed in the early days of TCOMC back at Bramleys! For CHERRY (my own project) it's an album launch show with drum cameo from Adam Brodigan. The wonderful SOPHIE SIROTA will be opening with her dreamy viola led ambience.

6.30pm - SOPHIE SIROTA (electronic/ambient)
7.30pm - CHERRY (inde folk)
8.30pm - NUKLI (psychedelic/progressive)
9.30pm - DJ Professor Appleblossom
9.55pm - Last bus to CT (at time of writing)
NUKLI - London
<<nukli>> (pron. /njuːklʌɪ/ ) are a psych/prog three-piece band with a long history and back catalogue. Core members, Kev Hegan (gtr, vox) and Mark Huxley (bass) have played together since the 80's and that history shows itself in the intuitive and complementary way their instruments support each other, with plenty of melodic interplay between them. With Paul Maguire, who brings power, but with a lightness of touch to the drums, they recently recorded a new studio album, Acid Funk. Read on…
Acid Funk is a brand new studio album which captures the bands current set in glorious technicolor! From catchy psych-pop through to full on psychedelic freakouts, the album takes you on a glorious journey. Mimicking the format of favourite 70's vinyl, where you could choose between the song side or the long trippy instrumental side, you can drop in halfway through if you prefer the more instrumental side of the band or hit it from the top if you fancy some catchy songs, with thought provoking, sometimes esoteric, lyrics.
Live, the band are a truly psychedelic experience, with a super tight and funky rhythm section topped with soaring guitar lines, laced with shards of delay. They have a long track history of playing festivals and psych events, such as Kozfest, Mabfest, Tannerfest, and Glastonbury Psychfest, as well as many festivals that have fallen by the wayside, such as Cosmic Puffin, Blind Cat, and the legendary Eastern Haze. With roots that stretch back into the Free Festival and Squatting scene of the 80's and 90's this band is the real deal... It's never too late to have a happy childhood!

CHERRY - Canterbury
Enter Cherry's eclectic, wild soundscape; a fusion of guitar and
flute from the Canterbury duo which harnesses all the sincerity
of folk-music, with flavours of psychedelia and funk.
What began life as the solo song-writing project of Neil Sullivan (Lapis Lazuli, Wheels), evolved into a musical partnership when his girlfriend, Skye, began accompanying him on flute and vocals.
It's this musical conversation, this ebb and flow and sense of
playfulness, that imbues Cherry's sound with untamed magic.
They blend the intricate guitar picking and introspective lyricism
of Nick Drake, with the technicolour vibrancy of a Love album,
combined with the vocal texture reminiscent of R.E.M. From the
rousing flow of 'Oh Why' to the atmospheric mysticism of 'Red
Flag', Cherry lays out a complex, evolving patchwork of nuance
and emotion, which holds a mirror to life's chaotic mix of
fragments and experience; from growing up and relationships,
to social issues, through to finding community and connection to
landscape.
Their debut collaborative album, The Howling Moon, released
this summer, expands upon this multi-faceted journey with all
the energy and vigour of their live performances. Cherry are
currently headed for a UK tour with Swiss band Selveya in
September, with a series of local summer gigs including Herne
Bay Folk Festival.
