The Cottage Presents: 1976 NEVER MIND THE FROLLOCKS
JUNE 6TH
Roll UP
Roll IN
Now you've got a reason to be waiting...
The first party of the year is here and we’re taking you back 50 years.
The Sun is HOT and the air smells faintly of cigarettes, Babycham and social unrest. Punks are safety-pinning their lives together, denim flares are beginning to fade… and even the hippies are fighting back.
1976 is the exact halfway point in time.
50 years since The Captain first asked Falmouth Docks to build him a house… This pile of red bricks you’ve all come to know and love as THE COTTAGE.
And now, 50 years later, a glorious mélange of humans resides within its walls. Some of whom survived ‘76 with stories so lairy today they’d get shadowbanned on TikTok, and others who were never shown the ancient ritual of inviting someone to a party by physically knocking on their door.
Until now. *knock, knock*
For one night only, The Cottage is diving headfirst into 1976, and you’re all invited.
Ditch the Moped and jump inside an explosion of culture. Imagine a dancefloor where Johnny Rotten slow dances with Donna Summer to ABBA’s Dancing Queen. Pull a middle finger out at that big bang as NASA launches its first space shuttle Enterprise, and when everything starts to get a little blurry... What’s that? Pink Floyd’s inflatable pig floating dreamily across the sky?
Or - if that all sounds a bit hectic -, put your feet up, indulge in a Double Decker and stick on your favorite VHS. Maybe rustle up something deliciously gauche from your favourite Fanny Craddock cook book.
But be warned… it’s about to be full-blown Anarchy in the U.K.
So the only question is…
Where would you find yourself in 1976?
Getting sweaty in the underground…
Hitchhiking to Stonehenge with a tambourine and a dream
Reppin the UNION?
If I were you… I’d dress to distress and catch a Concorde to the top of the track.
Same drill, no frills. Just a pure celebration of 100 Years of Cottage Chaos
50 years there…
50 years back…
Will there be music?
Obviously.
Will there be dancing until sunrise?
Without question.
Will somebody lose their keys, phone, bag, sunglasses, collection of precious rocks, picture of their mother, dignity, hamster, sleep routine, sense of obligation to the state.
Highly likely.
Welcome back to The Cottage.
1976 is calling... So go on, leg it to a phone box and PICK UP.
