Welcome to The Convocation: A Gathering of Black Women Artists
Presented By Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor!
Actor, aunt, writer, and spoiler of Confederate dreams, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor will present this event to herald the atomic and galaxy-building expanse of the Black Woman Imagination.
We will gather at Tougaloo College, the historic and thundering Hush Harbor, where, with that staggering imagination, Fannie Lou Hamer and Ella Baker designed and launched the Freedom Rights movement.
It is here where we will gather again with students and community in the tradition of Mrs. Hamer and Mrs. Baker to experience and be challenged by the work of some of the most brilliant Black Women practitioners today in film, music, and literature.
