This August, the Drexel Theatre presents a program dedicated to one of America’s filmmaking legends with “Francis Ford Coppola: Beyond Godfather.” Focusing on Coppola’s work outside of his seminal gangster trilogy, we’re screening two ’70s masterpieces, an underloved ’80s curio, and a gothic ’90s spectacle.
THE CONVERSATION: Gene Hackman stars as Harry Caul, a surveillance expert who becomes obsessed with a cryptic recording that suggests a murder is about to occur. As his paranoia grows, the line between truth and delusion blurs in this haunting meditation on guilt, privacy, and moral responsibility.
