About this Event
It's a gentle upstream walk as we follow the Ver from the confluence with the Colne to Verulamium Park. Enjoy good views of the river at its summer best as we walk past historic mills, across farmland and into the city of St Albans. We'll meet with those gathering in Verulamium Park to mark the Society's 50th birthday.
The walk is FREE to attend but we would appreciate donations to the Redbournbury Bench Fund. Open to members and non-members.
Easy flat walking, please dress suitably for the weather and bring your own refreshments. There are no planned stops on the walk. Estimated walk time 3 hours.(3.5 hours if meeting at the car park.)
A drop off would be most suitable for this linear walk but there are free parking facilities if you prefer to make your own arrangements to return from St Albans. Meet at the car park at 8.30am or the stepping stones on Drop Lane at 9.00am to begin the walk.
