The Community Clinic at Shakti
About this Event
With great pleasure, Shakti in the Mountains is excited to invite you to The Community Clinic. This monthly clinic was created to address the need for accessible and loving care - a way to support people who are experiencing stress, fatigue, anxiety, and melancholy as well as body aches and pains.
Group healing environments offer a unique experience. Each participant is creating an exponential connection to their community, while sharing a space that also allows for intimacy with their practitioner. All personal details are held with respect and privacy to ensure that your treatment remains accessible and individual to you.
Because of the generosity of several healing practitioners, we are able to offer effective and low-cost acupuncture ($10 minimum cash donation) to all those who seek help or who are simply curious. There are no scheduled appointments. Each clinic is drop-in and folks will be treated in order of arrival. You will be informed of your patient rights and asked to sign a waiver to be treated.
Wear loose fitting clothing and please have eaten and be well hydrated prior to your arrival. Looking forward to working with you!

I know the human body to be a remarkable vehicle for change. The energetic design of the human body and how it interacts within the laws of nature, support my underlying belief that in order to achieve true wellness, it is essential to understand the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies as a whole.
I have witnessed first-hand the powerful potential of Chinese Medicine when I treat the patient as symbiotic to the physical environment. My approach to care includes re-establishing a balance of the laws of nature, restoring the innate intelligence within the physical body, and allowing the patient to become an active participant in restoring health within.

My journey with Chinese medicine actually started as a patient. At one point in my life, I struggled with my health and mobility, and Chinese medicine completely changed my life. It helped me walk again, and that experience is what inspired me to become an acupuncturist and help others on their own healing journeys.
I’ve now been practicing for 8 years, and I love helping people feel better in a natural, supportive way. My goal is always to create a calm space where patients feel comfortable, listened to, and informed about their health. I’m passionate about getting to the root of what’s going on instead of just covering up symptoms, and I believe healing looks different for everyone.
Outside of the clinic, I enjoy adult coloring, slowing down, and finding balance in everyday life — something I encourage my patients to do too.

I am a licensed physical therapist, a certified pelvic specialist, and a certified HeartMath practitioner. I am also a philosopher, a storyteller, and an occasional troublemaker. Mostly, I am a lover of the human experience and a fellow traveler on the journey. Brightside was born almost five years ago as a way to bring it all together.
One unavoidable aspect of the human experience is the need to breathe. Fortunately, that doesn't require much effort on our part because the body can automate that task most of the time. Unfortunately, that means that we can become less connected with our breath and internal senses, which can lead to pain, postural problems, and dysregulation. Fortunately again, we can tune that right up by actively reconnecting with the breath mechanism.
To that end, I have developed a simple, gentle, seated experience designed to ground the pelvis, orient the spine, and soften the breathspace around the heart, which in turn liberates the body's innate wisdom mechanisms. This is a manual treatment that involves the therapist's hands interacting with the spine, shoulders, and ribcage alongside guided breathwork. I am very happy to bring this treatment to the Shakti community.
