An Intuitive Painting Experience with 4BEAT Music.
Have you ever heard a song that took you straight back to a moment in your life? A place, a person, a feeling you hadn’t thought about in years. And suddenly, there it is again.
I’ve been wondering what would happen if we could paint those feelings instead of trying to put them into words.
So on Saturday, 7 November, I’m setting a table for ten at ATMA in Karlín. There’ll be paints, music, warm apple tea and a rather unusual way to spend an afternoon.
🎶 Instead of painting what we see, we’ll paint what we hear and feel.
I’ve chosen music with a steady 4/4 beat, that familiar one, two, three, four that has you tapping your fingers without realising it.
We’ll see what happens when that rhythm reaches our paintbrushes. Perhaps you’ll reach for a deep blue, make a bold red sweep across the canvas, or find yourself painting something you never expected.
Ten people. The same music. Ten completely different paintings.
No picture to copy and no need to know the first thing about painting. You can simply enjoy making something that’s yours to take home.
I’ll have spiced apple tea warming, biscuits on the table and all the paints ready. We’ll have three hours to listen, paint, chat and see what comes of it. 🍎☕
