Join us for a research showcase led by Alberto Villanueva, presenting work from The Collaborative Observatory for Architecture and Cities (COAC+). This session will highlight interdisciplinary research and collaborative approaches to architecture and urban environments, bringing together creative practice, design and critical inquiry.
The event will feature insights into how COAC+ engages with global and local architectural challenges, combining research, creative practice and community engagement. Through presentations and discussion, attendees will gain an understanding of the observatory’s work and perspectives on spatial research, collaboration and the built environment.
About the Speaker — Alberto Villanueva
Alberto Villanueva MArch, MA, PGCE, FHEA, FRSA, ARB, WCCA is an architect and Associate Professor at Ravensbourne University London, where he leads the Architecture and Built Environment department. His work spans education, management and engagement with creative economies and the built environment, with academic and professional projects across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the United States. Alberto’s research explores the intersection of emerging technologies, social impact and cultural heritage, with a focus on inclusive, sustainable and culturally responsive spatial practices. He is a registered architect and fellow of institutions including the Royal Society of Arts and the Higher Education Academy, and his work has been published and exhibited internationally.
