Each month, we’ll be running four different book clubs, one for each Thursday of the month: fantasy, sci-fi, romance/fantasy romance, and horror/thriller.This month's Romantasy pick is: Gate to Kagoshima by Poppy Kuroki.
This book is a historical fantasy novel about a young Scottish woman, Isla Mackenzie, who is magically transported back in time to the last Samurai era in Japan during the Satsuma Rebellion. She encounters her ancestors and falls in love with a samurai named Kei, forcing her to confront her own history and the impending conflict, blending romance, time travel, and Japanese history. It is the first book in the Ancestor Memories series.
