The Clawing-Raw: a women’s night of body-based readings, writing and breath
1st half: Performance/readings & trauma focused breath-work
2nd half: exercises for body-based writing & focusing inward
About this Event
Free. Registration required. Limited seating.
Invitation: women, femmes and two spirited individuals, you're invited to a night of getting to the “clawing-raw” of your creative work. Bring writing supplies.
Hosted by local artists and practitioners, Teresa Konechne and Tiffany Reinitz.
First half of the evening: Teresa will perform two of her first land-based pieces and read excerpts from her newest work:
Fallow: a love letter to trauma and burnout
Knitting together the Unearthing and the Unearthly.
Fallow is an interactive fiction. She will also discuss and demonstrate this genre for storytelling.
Tiffany will lead trauma focused breath-work based in Ayurveda and other holistic practices.
Break: Guests who do not wish to participate in the writing exercises are welcome to leave at this point. Or hang out and listen, providing the group agrees.
Second half of the evening: Teresa will lead the group in “Creating from your body” writing exercises.
Tiffany will lead exercises on focusing inward.
Teresa Konechne is a filmmaker, climate change activist, visual artist and writer. Her films, documentaries, and visual art pieces have won awards, and been presented in countries around the world. This event is the culmination of her MN State Arts Board "Grant for Individual Artists."
Tiffany Reinitz is a visual artist, Kundalini yoga instructor, Reiki Master and Certified Ayurvedic practitioner. Her work brings together Ayurveda, yoga, meditation, aromatherapy, Tibetan Medicine, energy healing, and more.
