The Christine Mayes Memorial Scholarship Foundation’s Breast Cancer Walk

This walk will honor all who have fought or are fighting breast cancer. Walk casually with other participants or aim to reach the 2K goal. Either way, all are welcome! Come out for good music, refreshments, raffles, prizes, and fellowship! Food truck and mobile auto detailing available on site!

As the Christine Mayes Foundation gears up for its 7th annual breast cancer walk, we are strongly encouraging participants and supporters of the October Walk to donate, to aide in this earnest endeavor.

The foundation will be giving scholarships to support individuals and families affected by cancer. The foundation will also be gifting scholarships to Sabal Palm graduates as well as disadvantaged students who desire post-secondary education.

The Christine Mayes Memorial Scholarship Foundation (or CMMSF) was created in loving memory of Mrs. Christine “Christy” Mayes. Christy was extremely devoted to education. She devoted 26 years to teaching Special Education and 2nd grade students in the Duval County Public School System. Twenty One of those years were spent at Sabal Palm Elementary School. Mrs. Mayes nurtured, challenged, and loved each and every child that stepped foot in her classroom.

Christy was a two-time breast cancer survivor. Through every battle, she fought hard, kept her faith in God, and eventually finished her race. She will be cherished, loved, and remembered always. Christy’s beautiful legacy will live on, through her foundation.

Shirts will be available during event. These T-shirts were created in collaboration with Love Yourz for Breast Cancer Month. Walk participants are highly encouraged to wear your Love Yourz Breast Cancer Awareness shirts during the event.
