Renowned for their unmistakable harmonies, socially conscious lyrics and timeless soulful pop sound, The Christians are set to light up Leeds City Varieties on 18th March 2026 as part of their eagerly awaited UK tour.
Emerging from Liverpool in the late 1980s, The Christians quickly became one of the UK’s most acclaimed bands, selling millions of records and earning a loyal following with their distinctive blend of soul, pop and gospel influences. Their debut self-titled album ‘The Christians’ (1987) stormed the charts, spawning hit singles including ‘Forgotten Town’, ‘Ideal World’, and ‘Hooverville (And They Promised Us the World)’. Follow-up albums ‘Colour’ and ‘Happy in Hell’ continued their chart success with classics such as ‘Words’, ‘I Found Out’, and their iconic rendition of ‘Harvest for the World’.
Still fronted by the incomparable Garry Christian, the band continue to deliver powerful, heartfelt performances that blend nostalgia with fresh energy.
