The Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum presents the 2024 lecture series, featuring a wide range of speakers offering diverse perspectives and unique insights on Pikes Peak regional history. Admission is free, but registration is required.ABOUT THE PROGRAM
A new hardback, full-color book entitled, "Artus Van Briggle at Chico Basin Ranch" by Kathy Honea and Kenneth Talmadge Stacks, showcases the last five years of Artus' life. Much of the information provided by the descendants of the Holmes' family, original owners of the ranch; is shared here for the first time. Readers will see photos and read stories of Artus' last five years both at the ranch, and while developing his pottery until his untimely death in 1904.
ABOUT THE PRESENTERS
Kathy Honea authored a previous book in 2011 on Van Briggle pottery. She has always had a strong interest in history, and began collecting Van Briggle early in life. She and her husband, Bob Teas, are retired and enjoy traveling and antiquing.
Kenneth Talmadge Stacks is a life-long collector of fine art and pottery. This book is the first of two of his collaborations with Kathy Honea.
