Change has a character, and it shapes ours. It reveals what we value and who we are becoming.
Our world is shifting across technology, education, work, relationships, and public life, changing how we view institutions we once trusted. How do we build trust, act with integrity, and sustain hope when familiar sources of certainty no longer carry the same weight?
The 2026 MacDonald Lectureship invites us to explore these questions together.
Drawing on perspectives from leadership, education, community, and Christian faith, this gathering will consider how we can become people capable of living and leading with courage, compassion, and a steady, active hope.
Hosted by the Rev. Shalini Rajack-Sankarlal and the congregation of University Community Church in partnership with Knox College, this free gathering welcomes church leaders, students, educators, professionals, congregants, and members of the wider community.
Lunch will be provided beginning at 12:00 p.m., with the lecture beginning at 1:00 p.m.
There is no cost to attend, but advance registration is requested to help us plan for seating and lunch.

The Reverend Shalini Rajack-Sankarlal is the minister of University Community Church in Windsor, Ontario.
Through her preaching and leadership, she invites people to ask honest questions, challenge inherited assumptions, and discover that faith can be both deeply personal and publicly meaningful. Shalini is a thoughtful and practical leader who is willing to ask difficult questions and imagine what the church could become when it takes seriously the good news of God’s grace, justice, and love revealed in Jesus Christ.
At University Community Church, she has helped the congregation clarify its mission, deepen its connection with the surrounding community, and rethink how its ministries, partnerships, and resources can serve others
Established in 1953 by the family of the late Rev. Charles H. MacDonald, D.D. to honour his legacy in service to The Presbyterian Church in Canada. Dr. MacDonald was the Moderator of The Presbyterian Church in Canada in 1947. Through the generous gift of this lectureship, Dr. MacDonald's family wished the College to host an educational opportunity on a practical aspect of the Church and its ministry facilitated by a minister of the PCC or one of its members. The first lecture was held in 1955 with The Rev. Andrew Poulain, Minister of St. Luke's Montreal, speaking on the topic of French Protestantism in Canada. Knox College is honoured to celebrate the legacy of Dr. MacDonald and his significant contribution to the PCC.
