The changing landscape of the Dandenongs with Anita Walker

Anita has had an interest in history since childhood. An avid young reader, she followed this love into Secondary Teaching. Moving to the Dandenongs in 1973, she turned her interest to Local History, particularly loving Helen Coulson's "Story of the Dandenongs". This was followed by buying each edition of Sherbrooke Foothills Historical Society's "Reflections of the Past" as they were published. Upon retirement, she joined the Historical Society in 2021, and quickly became fully absorbed - possibly obsessed - with researching Local History. As the Researcher for the Society, she has done several talks for various groups, in particular stories around the earliest historical sketches and paintings of the Dandenongs.
