Cecil County Independent Film Festival Returns with Free “Best of the Fest” Celebration at the Milburn Stone TheatreThe Cecil County Independent Film Festival will return this November to the Milburn Stone Theatre at Cecil College with a special two-day “Best of the Fest” event, celebrating some of the standout films presented during the festival’s first five seasons. In honor of this milestone, all screenings will be free and open to the public.
Founded in 2019, the festival has become a highlight for filmmakers and audiences across the region, showcasing independent films from local, national, and international artists. After taking a brief hiatus in 2020, the event has continued to grow each year—bringing diverse stories and creative voices to Cecil County.
This year’s lineup will feature audience favorites such as Apples, Oranges, Lemons & Limes by Pat Mitchell, Cowgirls and Indians by Kate Davis, Black Hole by Mykola Ovcharov, Holly Hill by Jack Foley, Tea Time for Two by Matthew Kaplan, Stray by John Lofton IV, Eden by Robbie Walsh, and SafeWords by Cecil County resident Samuel White. Additional films will be announced in the coming days.
Festival Director Andrew John Mitchell said the free admission is a gesture of appreciation: “We wanted to make the 2025 festival a thank you to our patrons, community, and filmmakers, so this year we’re offering attendance completely for free. You can request eTickets in advance at milburnstonetickets.com or by calling or visiting the Milburn Stone Theatre box office.”
The full film schedule and showtimes will be available soon at www.milburnstone.com/filmfestival.
