NANCY BAUER's published novels are The Irrational Doorways of Mr. Gerard, Goose Lane Editions, 1994; Samara the Wholehearted, Goose Lane Editions, 1991; The Opening Eye, Oberon Press, 1988; Wise-Ears, Oberon Press, 1985; and Flora, Write This Down, Goose Lane Editions, 1982 (Goose Lane’s first publication).A Great Cloud of Witnessing: Selected Arts Journalism of Nancy Bauer, collected and edited by Ian LeTourneau, will be published by Chapel Street Editions in the fall of 2024. Hammering at the Door, Bauer’s first collection of stories, will be published in the winter of 2025. Born in Massachusetts on July 7, 1934, Nancy came to New Brunswick in 1965 with professor and writer Bill Bauer and their three children.
JASON BELL, PhD, is a professor of philosophy at the University of New Brunswick and the author of the national bestseller Cracking the Nazi Code: The Untold Story of Canada's Greatest Spy. He has served as a Fulbright professor in Germany (at Winthrop Bell’s alma mater, the University of Göttingen) and taught at universities in Belgium, the United States and Canada. He was the first scholar to be granted exclusive access to Winthrop Bell’s classified espionage papers. Despite the coincidence of their surname, Jason and Winthrop Bell are not known relations.
JENNIFER HOULE is the author of two award-winning poetry collections, The Back Channels and Virga (Signature Editions) and two children's books, A Home for Molly/Un logis pour Molly (available in both French and English) and A Child's Botanical Alphabet. A life-long Maritimer, she lives in Hanwell, and has a chapbook forthcoming from Emergency Flashmob Press.
