"Open to the Skies tells the quietly brilliant story of moving an old church from the sacred to the secular and of a woman's struggle to enter a community that doesn't want her, nor the change she represents." - Chuck Bowie
Jane Spavold Tims is a botanist and historian, who brings these interests to her writing. She worked in community planning and watershed management before turning to writing full time. She has published numerous books including mysteries, poetry collections, and science fiction. Her poetry has won the Alfred G. Bailey Prize and been shortlisted for a New Brunswick Book Award. Her latest novel, Open to the Skies, was published last fall by Merlin Star Press. Her work is found on her website, janetims.com
"Stutt masters the balance of terrible with terrific by crafting compelling characters, both from craft supplies and emotions that are real... Puppet is a heart-stopping, mind bending journey of beaver tails and children show tales, with a Canadian setting and a backwoods Quebec finale you won’t want to miss." - The Miramichi Reader
Robert (Bob) Stutt has worked in children’s television for over 40 years, puppeteering on such shows as Fraggle Rock, The Jim Henson Hour, The Friendly Giant, The Big Comfy Couch, Sesame Park, and as Iggy Iguana on Under the Umbrella Tree. He’s also written over 300 scripts produced for CBC, CTV, PBS, and Disney, and has performed live everywhere from the street corners of Toronto to the Smithsonian Institute in Washington. Bob lives in Fredericton, NB, with his wife, Joanne, dog, Teddy, and ginger cat, Conan O’Brien.
