His genre-defying sound effortlessly blends jazz, blues, and funk engaging audiences with every performance. His music has been shaped by a combination of tradition and innovation, drawing inspiration from legendary jazz pianists including Cedar Walton, Oscar Peterson, and Duke Ellington. Carson will be joined by some of Iowa City’s finest musicians including bassist Blake Shaw and drummer Christopher Jensen.
