The Business Planning Lab

The Business Planning Lab – Wilmington Hybrid Cohort is a 6-week hands-on program designed to guide early-stage and idea-stage entrepreneurs through the process of building a strong foundation for their businesses. Whether you are within your first 1–2 years of launching or still shaping your idea, this cohort provides the structure, tools, and support you need to move from vision to execution.

Facilitated by Cherith Roberson, founder of Flourish In Growth, the program uses her proprietary framework, The Guided Small Business Planner™, to help participants create a clear, actionable business plan. The hybrid format combines in-person and virtual learning to maximize accessibility while still offering opportunities for networking and connection.

The cohort kicks off and concludes with in-person sessions at Cape Fear Community College, where participants will engage in group introductions, share their goals, and celebrate their progress. Weekly virtual sessions allow for interactive instruction and peer learning from the convenience of home or office.

Program topics include:

• Defining your “why” and aligning your vision with your long-term goals
• Understanding your customers and competitors
• Business basics, including LLCs, legal considerations, and tax structures
• Building strong branding and marketing foundations
• Designing the customer experience to create loyalty and retention
• Learning the essentials of money, metrics, and growth strategies

Each participant will receive a copy of The Guided Small Business Planner™, which serves as both a workbook and ongoing resource. The sessions are designed to be interactive, encouraging participants to apply concepts directly to their businesses and leave with practical steps they can implement immediately.

By the end of the program, entrepreneurs will not only gain clarity on their business model and strategy but also walk away with a tangible plan, a supportive network of peers, and the confidence to grow their businesses with purpose.
