About this Event
Understanding how local government works can give business owners a powerful advantage.
The Business Owner’s Guide to Local Government (101) is a practical, two-hour workshop designed to help Henry County entrepreneurs better understand how government decisions shape the environment in which their businesses operate.
From zoning and permitting to budgeting and long-term development planning, local government policies influence infrastructure, economic growth, and business opportunity. This workshop breaks down the fundamentals in a clear, conversational format so business owners can navigate the system with confidence.
During this session, participants will learn:
• How local government is structured (State → County → City)
• The difference between elected officials and government staff
• How local decisions are made and where business input matters
• Why attending local meetings matters
• Practical steps for staying informed and engaged
This workshop serves as the foundational course in the Government Affairs Education Series presented by CIA Media Group. Completion of 101 allows participants to continue into advanced workshops focused on strategic engagement and government opportunity.
This session provides the clarity and context business owners need to better understand their local operating environment.
This workshop is ideal for:
• Small business owners
• Entrepreneurs
• Professionals new to Henry County
• Business leaders who want a clearer understanding of local government processes
