The Business of Creative Leadership, Enterprise and Global Storytelling

The Centre for Equity and Inclusion at London Metropolitan University is pleased to launch the 2026 International Women's Day Celebrations at London Met — bringing together students, staff, and the wider community for an evening of reflection, dialogue, and connection.

This event explores the intersection of creative enterprise, leadership, and global storytelling, with a focus on how women are shaping sustainable futures within media and creative industries. As creative economies expand across digital and platform-driven environments, the need to balance innovation, ethics, and long-term viability has never been more critical.

We are delighted to welcome Meghna Ghai Puri, President of Whistling Woods International, as our guest speaker.

Drawing on her leadership experience building global industry partnerships and developing creative talent pipelines, Meghna will reflect on:

• Leading and sustaining creative organisations
• Building collaborative relationships with global media and technology partners
• Supporting future specialists entering competitive content economies
• Navigating representation, influence, and responsibility in global storytelling ecosystems

The evening will also feature the screening of a short film produced by alumni of Whistling Woods International, illustrating how creative outputs can operate simultaneously as cultural expression, social understanding, and economic contribution.

Following the lecture, attendees will join a panel discussion and Q&A before concluding with a drinks reception — providing space to continue conversation and community building.

Meghna Ghai Puri is President of Whistling Woods International, one of Asia’s leading creative education institutions. She has played a central role in positioning the organisation as a global hub connecting education, industry, and emerging technologies, working alongside major international media and platform partners to support the development of future creative professionals.

Her perspective is informed by both institutional leadership and an intergenerational relationship with storytelling through her father, acclaimed filmmaker
Subhash Ghai. Meghna brings a distinctive lens to questions of creative responsibility, enterprise sustainability, and cultural influence in an increasingly digitised media landscape.
