About this Event
You’ve got an idea for a picture book…now what? How do you set up the manuscript? When do the pictures get added? How can you get it into the hands of a publisher? How does the publisher bring the text and art together?
From first inspiration to final illustrations, Writer-in-Residence Deborah Kerbel will explain how a picture book gets created, break down common misconceptions about the genre, and share everything you need to know when writing your own, including behind-the-scenes anecdotes about the process.
Deborah has published more than thirty books across genres, from picture books and graphic novels to young adult fiction. In May and June, she will offer writing workshops for all ages, along with one-on-one consultations, manuscript critiques, and drop-in Q&A sessions.
