ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Blue Stockings
Blue Stockings is an art-folk duo based in Meanjin/Brisbane, featuring guitarist Chloe Hasson and vocalist Alison Paris. With influences ranging from psychedelic 70s folk, traditional ballads and modern indie-folk, their sound weaves intricate guitar melodies with poignant lyrics, creating a unique sound. With a focus on story-telling and conceptual performances, Blue Stockings approaches their music with a DIY ethos and a sense of humour.
Karen Anderson & Friends
Karen will be joined by mate of many years, Rob Stewart ( guitar), with Mick Donnelly (guitar) and Neil Nielsen ( bass) to bring a set of songs filled with heart and soul and intensity. There may be a guest vocalist or two as well! With songs written by the likes of Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Neil Young and Bonnie Raitt to name a few, expect a set that highlights Karen's warm and powerful vocal stylings, and the great interplay between Rob and Mick, and Neil. Karen has been performing at The Bug for many years, and loves the feel you get from a Bug audience. It's a special place to play..
