Join the Buffalo Geological Society on March 15th and 16th, 2025 at the Fairgrounds in Hamburg, New York (in the Marketplace, Grange, and NYS Police buildings) for our 55th Annual Gem, Mineral, and Fossil Show! Hours are from 9am to 6pm on Saturday, March 15th, and from 10am to 5pm on Sunday, March 16th.
In addition to more than 30 dealers of gems, mineral, fossils, and related items, the show hosts a number of additional attractions. There are many local non-profit organizations, member displays, a fluorescent mineral display (and presentation at 11AM each day), geologists for identifying specimens, geology badge assistance for scouts, and dinosaur models and bones from Past and Present. Demonstrators in attendance include soapstone carving by Sandy Cline, fossil preparation, jewelry design, and other lapidary arts.
Activities for our younger patrons include the popular "mini-mine" where children can search for minerals in simulated mine and a wash station to search for minerals in bags of sand.
Tickets are available at the door: $7 per person for a one-day admission, $10 for a two-day admission. Children 12 and under are free as are scouts in uniforms.
