About this Event
What to Expect
Think of this as your creative "third space." The Brunch Stitch isn't a traditional lecture-style class; it’s an open-format sewing lab designed to give you the time, space, and professional support you need to move forward on your own terms. Whether you’re a night owl finally tackling a project in the morning light or a beginner looking for a low-pressure environment to practice, this is for you.
When you walk into Room 301A, the vibe is all about encouragement. You can drop in anytime after 11:00 AM, grab a refreshment, and claim your workspace. I’ll be there the entire time as your expert resource—think of me as your "sewing safety net." If you get stuck on a tricky hem, can’t remember how to thread the bobbin, or just need a second pair of eyes on a design choice, I'm right there to help you troubleshoot.
This is the most flexible way to sew. You aren't tied to a specific curriculum, which means you have the freedom to explore your own creativity at your own pace. It’s a social, laid-back hour where the machines are humming, the music is right, and the community is always inspiring.

What You Can Accomplish:
Because this is an individual-led format, your "takeaway" is entirely up to you. Here are a few ways you can spend your time in the lab:
- Project Completion: Finally finish that "work in progress" that’s been sitting in your closet for months.
- Technique Mastery: Focus on one specific skill—like zippers, buttonholes, or French seams—until you feel like a pro.
- Design Troubleshooting: Get professional feedback on garment fit, fabric choice, or structural changes to a piece you're making.
- Machine Familiarity: Use the time to get comfortable with professional-grade tools and machines without the pressure of a formal project.
- Thrift-Flip Brainstorming: Bring in a thrifted find and use the studio's tools to map out how you want to transform it.
- Creative Exploration: Simply play with our scrap materials and see where your imagination takes you in a supportive environment.
