About this Event
Tabitha Schmidt, CEO of The Brown, will share the museum’s ongoing rebrand journey from the Museum of Arts and Sciences (MOAS) to The Cici & Hyatt Brown Museum of Art, Science & History (The Brown) at the FPRA Volusia/Flagler Chapter’s professional development program on Thursday, May 21.
More than a new name for the museum, the transformation reflects a bold vision for a reimagined campus and a once-in-a-generation future shaped by vision, community, and possibility.
The presentation, set for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 21 at the Art Museum at The Brown, 352 S. Nova Road, Daytona Beach, will give public relations professionals insight on the rebranding process including advice for others considering a rebrand.
Schmidt came to the museum in 2022 after having been the CEO of Powell Gardens, Kansas City’s botanical garden, where she guided the Gardens through a shift in strategic direction that resulted in greater attendance and membership. She also stewarded the organization through a master planning process for future direction.
Schmidt earned her B.A. in Art from Baker University and her M.A. in Art History from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and has had a well-rounded background working for non-profits, cultural organizations and educational institutions. She is involved in the Daytona Beach Rotary, Daytona Beach Chamber of Commerce, The Boss Lady, and the Florida Association of Museums (FAM). She and her husband, Mike, are parents of two grown children and live in Ormond Beach.
Join us May 21 to learn more about The Brown’s exciting rebranding journey!
