Greetings Darkling’s,Time to release the bats! For The annual 2026 Gothic and Alternative picnic.
The picnics are open to the alternative communities and those who are curious.
The picnics are family orientated – drug free and trouble free!
Date: Saturday 4th July 2026
Time: 10:00 am till 3:00 pm
Location: Bedford park /Spring Hill Hall.

Picnic is free to attend, no ticket required
The Catacombs Markets inside the Hall , this will be a ticketed event. Price TBC.

We are happy to announce our friends from the Crimson Catacombs Markets (aka The Crimson Rose Masquerade Ball) will be teaming up with us to bring you another amazing event...For 15 years running! 🎊🦇
The picnic outside will be FREE to attend.
Yes, you read that right, the picnic is free to attend!
There is a large area inside Bedford park for picnic rugs with plenty of room for everyone with shaded trees throughout. But bring your sunscreen and parasols too!
There is a playground in the grounds, for those of you with baby bats. And a few tables throughout.
Bedford Park is disability friendly and easy to navigate.
As well as the building Spring Hill Hall for the Crimson Rose Catacombs 🌹
Inside the hall will be paid entry to the Crimson Rose Catacombs markets, these will run from 10am.
More details to be confirmed later for this.
Enquiries for market stalls won’t be answered at this time, while we figure out the logistics of it all.

Come as your own self, be expressive and don’t judge others!
What to bring:
♡BYO food/drinks/cups/plates/napkins.
♡Something to sit on – Picnic rug/Chair/Cushions.
♡Parasol
♡Camera

Ground keeping rules:
*No smoking/vaping in the park, especially at the picnic – there is a smoking area for this by the road.
*Clean up after yourself
*No glass
*Be respectful towards each other
General rules:
*If you are unwell or have Covid stay home.
*No weapons! Includes nerf guns, larp weapons or other weapons. This is not the time or place for them.
*No smoking/vaping in parklands ; please go outside of the park for this.
*No drugs or alcohol.

We have our official photographers for the day but we also encourage you to bring your own camera to help capture the days moments. Please be respectful towards others and ask to take photos.

Please be aware that the picnic may be cancelled at short notice should restrictions be added. Our first priority is the health and safety of our community.
All picnics are registered with the Queensland police.
