Overall Conference Description:

Tonight, we will discuss the evolution in the of treatment of suicide. I will present an overview of suicide screening, assessment, and prevention and propose future directions in the treatment of suicide.

Objectives:

1. After participating in this session, attendees should be able to recognize suicide as a global mental health crisis and describe the evolution of suicide assessment and prevention over the last two decades.

2. After participating in this session, attendees should be able to explain the difference between a suicide screening tool and a suicide risk assessment.

3. After participating in this session attendees should give three examples of suicide prevention treatments.

4. After participating in this session attendees should be able to list two suicide screening tools.
