The Playhouse of Wilson is thrilled to close out our 2025-2026 season with one more musical production, directed by Sherry Lee Allen and under the musical direction of Playhouse veteran Jim Grant. “The Bridges of Madison County” was originally a best-selling novel by Robert James Waller, which reached No.1 on The New York Times list and remained on it for over three years. The literary popularity led to releasing a 1995 film starring Meryl Streep and Clint Eastwood. Ten years later the story unfolded on Broadway, and this adaptation produced a Tony award-winning musical with a book by Marsha Norman and music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown. An unexpected love story which spans the decades through America’s heartland changing two lives forever and asks the question, “Which bridges do we dare to cross?” To further our impact, we are also partnering with Eyes on Main Street, a nonprofit supporting the arts by displaying the works of 100 photographers for 100 days in downtown Wilson.Play tickets are available on our website, playhouseofwilson.com, as well as in-person at the Wilson Arts Council in downtown Wilson. Group rates of 10+ will receive a group rate.
