Join historian David Finch as we explore the past, revel in the present, and look toward the future threats to this stunning part of Kananaskis Country.We will explore the favourite haunts of George Pocaterra and RM Patterson in the early 1930s, then snack under the famous Boundary Pine. More frisky hikers can continue up into the fabulous Bull Creek Hills. All will thrill to the flowers and laugh at the stories. Birds abound, too!
David once bivouacked at the Boundary Pine for three days, watching the universe pivoting an ancient pine. Scarred by a lightning strike, the Boundary Pine was a source of inspiration and testament to perseverance. David wrote biographies of Pocaterra and Patterson, and he knows the spots where permanent springs erupt from this stunning landscape.
