The Bookery is delighted to welcome Sunday Times bestselling author Elly Griffiths to Crediton Library for a special evening celebrating the publication of her festive new mystery, The Case of the Christmas Card, and the paperback release of The Killing Time, the latest instalment in her acclaimed Ali Dawson series.
In this solo presentation, Elly will talk about her crime writing and the inspiration behind her popular novels featuring time-travelling detective Ali Dawson, one of the most original new voices in contemporary crime fiction.
The Case of the Christmas Card is a delightful festive murder mystery novella in which Ali Dawson receives an unexpected visitor just days before Christmas when none other than Charles Dickens appears on her doorstep.
In The Killing Time, longlisted for the Theakstons Old Peculiar Crime Novel of the Year Award 2026, detective Ali Dawson’s cold case unit remains grounded after a disastrous time-travel mission leaves a colleague stranded in Victorian London.
