The Book Society: Election Night with Sky Nelson-Isaacs
About this Event
Do you find yourself discouraged by current events? How about our ability to talk about them together?
Author and physicist Sky Nelson-Isaacs has spent many election cycles engaging with alternate viewpoints from a place of curiosity, and came away encouraged by the underlying human connections he made. Come together on election night to learn about a simple, powerful framework called SEW (Style, Emotions, Wholeness) for staying grounded in the moments that push us toward polarization. Drawing on his forthcoming book The Synchronicity Path, Sky shares how curiosity — not certainty — can help free us and connect us, and how the experiences that keep repeating in our lives are often pointing towards our own learning.
You will leave with a tool you can use right away — in a tense conversation, a difficult relationship, or a community that you want to change. And you will leave feeling less alone in the struggle to stay open when the world keeps pulling toward taking sides.
