Will Shakespeare has been dead for three years, and unscrupulous publishers pirate his plays (badly) and, worse, people pay to see them. In response, his surviving friends determine to gather and publish a collection of the true versions of his plays: the First Folio. But contending with loss, love, a fire, shady investors, cold feet, and rival poets, will they manage to do so and will it be worth it in the end?
Directed by J. Michael Spencer and Produced by Wayne Crow, this production brings wit and heart to this (mostly) historical story of how one of English literature's greatest works came to be preserved for the ages and stages to come. With scenic design by Bill Arnold and lighting design by Hilary Lang, it is a visual treat as well as featuring performances that are hilarious, heartbreaking, and everything in between. For a lover of the theater, of Shakespeare, or just of words, this is not a show you can afford to miss!
