Join us in celebrating the release of local author Marie Bostwick's next book The Book Club for Troublesome Women. She will be in conversation with another local author, Susan Wiggs, known for books like The Lost and Found Bookshop and Sugar and Salt. This event will be held after opening hours on Indie Bookstore Day, Saturday, April 26th at 6pm, a perfect night to celebrate new books.Marie Bostwick is a New York Times and USA Today Bestseller of heartwarming fiction for women. Published in 2005 by Kensington Books, Fields of Gold, her first novel, was a finalist for the prestigious Oklahoma Book Award. Drawing on her lifelong love of quilting and themes of special relevance to modern women, Marie’s Cobbled Court Quilt series has gained a dedicated following among quilters as well as those who’ve never threaded a needle. The first book in the series, A Single Thread (2008) is now in its eighteenth printing. In 2014, Marie was recognized for Career Achievement in Mainstream Novels award by RT BOOK Reviews Magazine. Marie lives in Washington state with her husband, Brad. When not writing, she enjoys quilting, reading, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Marie travels extensively, speaking at libraries, bookstores, quilt guilds, and at quilt shows.
Susan Wiggs life is all about family, friends…and fiction. Her books celebrate the power of love, the timeless bonds of family and the fascinating nuances of human nature. She is an international best-selling, award-winning author, with millions of copies of her books in print in numerous countries and languages. According to Publishers Weekly, Wiggs writes with “refreshingly honest emotion,” and the Salem Statesman Journal adds that she is “one of our best observers of stories of the heart [who] knows how to capture emotion on virtually every page of every book.” The author is a former teacher, a Harvard graduate, an avid hiker, an amateur photographer, a good skier and terrible golfer, yet her favorite form of exercise is curling up with a good book. She lives on an island in Puget Sound, where she divides her time between sleeping and waking.
This is a nonticketed event, but if you pre-order a book you will be reserved a seat for this awesome evening. We will also sell books at the event.
