The Bogs of Divis
About this Event
From being a home to lizards, insects and groundnesting birds to preserving ancient artifacts dating back to as early as the neolithic period, bogs are one of our coolest and most important habitats here in Ireland. On Saturday 8th August from 12pm to 3pm, join us on a guided nature walk and talk on Divis and the Black Mountain where we'll learn fascinating facts about this ancient habitat, followed by an origami crafting session.
Meeting at the main car park at Divis and the Black Mountain for 12pm. Bring sturdy walking shoes, a bottle of water and maybe a raincoat.
Tea and coffee will be provided after the walk during the craft session. Bathrooms are also available onsite.
Unfortunately due to the terrain on the mountain this activity would be unsuitable for wheelchairs or rolators. The difficulty level of the walk is moderate with not very much incline.
See you there!
