The Bog is Back! Rusticus Theatre Performances: Ditzy Dragonfly
About this Event
Come and join the fun filled reopening weekend of Askham Bog! Join Ditzy Dragonfly as she celebrates the reopening of the boardwalk with a magical storytelling adventure through one of Yorkshire's most special wildlife havens. But there's just one problem... Ditzy has only recently emerged from the watery world beneath the reeds, and she's not quite sure how to use her brand-new wings!
As you explore the bog together, Ditzy will share the remarkable story of her life. From her days as a tiny dragonfly nymph living beneath the water, to her incredible climb up through the reeds and marsh plants towards the sunlight, you'll discover the fascinating journey that every dragonfly must make. Along the way, you'll meet the creatures and plants that call the bog home, uncover nature's secrets, and hear a beautiful tale of growth, change and transformation.
But now comes the biggest challenge of all... learning to fly! With your help, Ditzy will discover the secrets of lift, balance, confidence and courage. Through games, storytelling and plenty of laughter, families will help her take those first wobbly wingbeats and soar into the skies above Askham Bog.
Perfect for curious explorers, budding nature lovers and families of all ages, this enchanting guided walk combines wildlife and imagination to celebrate the reopening of the boardwalk and the wonders of the natural world.
Outdoor performance walk. Lasts approx. 45 mins. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Come dressed for the weather in comfortable footwear.
