Welcome to British boarding school. Yes, it’s Hogwarts - but without the magic, the sorting hat, or a decent defence against the dark arts. The Boarders follows two women, one British and one Vietnamese, as they swap childhood tales of tuck boxes, tormentors, and the type of emotional neglect that builds character (or a very good therapist’s pension). What was promised as an educational privilege turns out to be more like a crash course in abandonment, shame, and how to iron your socks right for inspection. But don’t worry, it’s not all doom and gloom. There’s satire, courtroom drama, and at least one moment where the audience wonders if they too need therapy. The Boarders: proof that trauma shared is trauma halved (and also quite decent theatre).
