Step back in time for an afternoon of history, hospitality, and tea at the Bluffton Branch Library! Join us on Thursday, July 30, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. for The Bluffton Tea Party, a delightful summer reading celebration inspired by Colonial America.Blending this year’s summer reading theme, Unearth a Story, with the nationwide commemoration of America 250, this engaging program invites participants to dig into the fascinating story of tea in Colonial America. Discover how tea became an important part of colonial culture, explore the traditions of colonial tea times, and learn about South Carolina’s own Charleston Tea Party — the bold protest against Britain’s Tea Act that helped fuel the growing spirit of revolution.
Following the presentation, guests will enjoy a traditional colonial-style social tea filled with conversation, refreshments, and the charm of an old-fashioned gathering. Participants will also receive tea samples to enjoy at home, generously provided by the Friends of the Bluffton Library.
Registration is required, as seating and tea tables must be arranged in advance. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to celebrate summer reading, honor America 250, and savor a delicious taste of history!
