Blue Tide
Blues Band
Hailing from the southern coast of Oregon, Blue Tide has been treating folks with their own
brand of blues-infused songs since 2023. All four members of the band have unique singing
styles that, when combined, provide tightly blended harmonies that propel the audience to
different worlds. Their performances are spiced with moments of humor, hip-shaking rhythms,
and deep introspection.
The Blue Tide Blues Band is:
Michael Wesley Hughes - Guitar, Vocals
Michael is a veteran of the music industry who has two solo albums to his credit with
one of his songs appearing in the HBO series “True Blood.” His powerful voice brings
lyrics to life in vibrant colors as his strong guitar chops move your soul.
David Ford - Guitar, Vocals
David is a veteran of the music scene of Oregon’s south coast since 1976. While he has
performed over the years in rock bands, country shows, jazz settings, and Americana
groups, his true passion was found in the mid-80’s when he formed the Bigfoot Blues
Band with Michael Carrillo. He injects elements of the many guitar styles he employs
along with his smooth vocal stylings into Blue Tide’s interpretations of classic songs.
Rudy Alaniz - Bass Guitar, Vocals
Rudy is also a well-seasoned professional who has played in a variety of musical
settings. His finely honed bass chops helps to drive the songs into your heart and soul.
That, along with his ear-catching vocal style, adds many glorious colors to the
expansive sonic palette of Blue Tide.
Michael (”Garse”) Carrillo - Drums, Vocals
Mike is another veteran of the Oregon south coast music scene, beating mediocrity into
submission since the 1970’s. He has played in several preeminent bands as well as
backing touring legends such as Bo Diddley. His strong vocal presence, along with his
tight and well crafted percussive rhythms join with Rudy to power the Blue
