Yoga Class Information:
Our experienced instructor will guide participants through postures with detailed instruction on alignment, breath, and relaxation. Yoga mats, blocks, and straps will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. Movements will be synchronized with the breath and the use of the supportive yoga props will be encouraged to support the body and aid in the release of tension. No prior yoga or exercise experience is necessary. Sanitizing spray and towels will be available.
Class Descriptions:
Vinyasa Flow is a dynamic, energizing style of yoga where movements are synchronized with your breath. You'll flow through a series of poses in a smooth, continuous sequence, building strength, flexibility, and mindfulness. Perfect for all levels, this class helps you connect your mind and body while promoting relaxation and balance.
Gentle Yoga is a slow-paced, calming practice focused on light stretches, mindful breathing, and relaxation. Perfect for beginners or anyone looking to reduce stress, this class helps release tension, improve flexibility, and promote a sense of peace and balance.
Meet your Instructor:
Certified yoga instructor and health coach Keturah Williams grew up in the greater Washington DC area, and received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Master’s degree in Health Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University. Following graduation, she joined the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and in 2013 she discovered her love of yoga.
Keturah earned her 200-hour yoga teacher certification in 2018 from the Marianne Wells Yoga School in Costa Rica. In the same year, she earned her Health Coaching Certification from the American Council on Exercise. She created Mindful Wellness, and began teaching various forms of yoga in addition to leading “Wellness for Life” classes designed to help participants lose or maintain weight through physical activity and nutrition education. In 2020, she expanded her client base by teaching yoga virtually and starting her private health coaching practice.
Her yoga classes are grounded in a breath-centered approach which thoughtfully modifies poses to suit the unique needs of each student. Similarly, her health coaching clients experience a holistic approach rooted in her scientific background. By addressing physical, emotional, and lifestyle factors, she empowers clients to make sustainable changes that align with their unique needs and aspirations for a healthier, more balanced life.
