The Blast Monkeys are a Kansas-based band with elements of pop punk, midwest emo, and grunge.
Their latest release “Monkey Business” showcases their ability to blend playful styles of the past through a present-day lens. With quirky lyrics, energetic riffs, hard-hitting drums, and intelligent basslines there is plenty to digest from the midwest trio.
Founding members Scott Vick and Kyle Chambers began playing together in the summer of 2017 (going into their sophomore year of high school) with vague ambitions of forming a band. “We sucked but man we had fun,” said Scott. Bonding over similar interests the two began goofing off and playing music whenever possible. After a lot of practice and recruiting of their long-time high school friend Grant Schuck on bass their vague ambition has slowly turned into a reality.
