The Black Caddie Summer Program
About this Event
The Black Caddie Academy Summer Program is a 4-week leadership and life skills experience designed for students ages 13–18. Using golf, esports, mentorship, financial literacy, and career readiness as teaching tools, students will gain real-world skills that prepare them for success in school, work, and life.
The program runs Monday through Thursday (10:00 am to 3:00 pm) from June 29 through July 23 at DeSoto High School. Students will participate in both classroom and outdoor learning experiences that focus on leadership development, communication skills, teamwork, financial literacy, professional etiquette, and personal responsibility.
Each day begins with classroom sessions covering topics such as goal setting, career exploration, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, communication, and leadership. Students then participate in outdoor activities that reinforce teamwork, confidence, problem-solving, and golf-related skills.
Parents can expect a structured, positive, and engaging environment where students are challenged to think critically, communicate effectively, and develop confidence. The program is designed to help students discover strengths, explore future career opportunities, and build relationships with mentors, community leaders, and professionals.
Included in the program are lunch, transportation for program activities, golf equipment, golf fees, esports activities, mentorship opportunities, field experiences, and leadership development programming.
Our goal is simple: help students develop the confidence, character, and skills necessary to become successful leaders in their communities.
The Black Caddie Academy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to helping students move Beyond The Bag and build brighter futures.

Twilight Golf Outing (July 16 and July 30) @ Thorntree Golf Club
Info: The Twilight Golf Outings provide students with a unique opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world experiences. Held at Thorntree Golf Club on July 9 and July 23, these walking 9-hole networking events bring together students, mentors, business professionals, sponsors, and community leaders.
Students observe and participate in professional interactions while learning communication skills, leadership, customer service, teamwork, and networking. Through caddie support, mentorship, and guided conversations, students gain valuable exposure to careers, business relationships, and personal development opportunities that cannot be taught in a traditional classroom setting.
