The spirit of jazz will soar over Big Eleven Lake Park on Saturday August 30 2025 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM as the community comes together for “The Bird Lives! Take 3”—a vibrant outdoor celebration of Kansas City's own Charlie “Yardbird” Parker.

This free festival honors Parker’s enduring legacy with live music family fun and great food in a lively lakeside setting.

🎶 Musical LineupThe evening features performances by two local bands a dynamic vocalist and a DJ spinning smooth sounds before and after the main acts—keeping the groove going all night long.

🎨 Family-Friendly FunYounger guests will enjoy a giant golden saxophone photo op bounce house games face painting spin art and the splash park to beat the summer heat.

🍽️ Food & CommunityCome hungry! Top-rated local vendors will be serving tasty eats and refreshing drinks—or feel free to bring your own picnic. You’ll also have the chance to connect with local nonprofit organizations sharing information and resources.
