About this Event

Overview

The Summer ’26 Golf & Networking Tournament is a golf outing in which members get to golf and network with family , friends, #club-apple-golf golfers, Newark FC and family and freinds. as well as Newark soccer guests!

• Building upon the succes of previous year's events, this year will feature multiple contest opportunities, a tournament format that promotes networking & fun, collaborations with local golf organizations for prizes , and of course... a great golf course!

Logistics

• Location: Crystal Springs Golf Course, Burlingame, CA
• Date: Sunday, 8/9/26
• Shotgun Start Time: 8:30am
• Registration Cost: $215/player
• Tournament Format: 'Scramble w/a Twist' [see below for details]
• Max # of Players: 120 (30 scramble teams)
• Each Registration Includes:
• --> Golf: 18-Hole Scramble Team & Driving Range Warmup, On-Course Games
• --> Food: Breakfast (Burritos, Donuts, Juice/Coffee/Water) , Snacks, Tournament Banquet
• ---> Games & Contests: Closest to Pin , Long, & Straightest Drive Contests + Game Tickets to use for On-Course Games (Short Game Challenges, Hit-The-Green, Beat-An-Athlete, Etc. Challenge)
• ---> Swag & Vibez: Tournament SWAG-Bag, Initial Prize Drawing Tickets, Golf Networking Games (Optional!)

Features

• PACE OF PLAY: We will keep the round in the 4-4.5 hr range by limiting the total # of players in the tournament (144 ->124) & adjusting tee boxes for flights and and lowering the max score per hole (+2)
• PRIZES: Participants want more opportunities and chances to get prizes throughout the day. We will again spruce up SWAG BAGs with Tee Prizes and End of Day of Tournament Raffled Prizes including trophies, 49er tickets, Golf Clubs, and more... Stay tuned!
• NETWORKING: Most players wanted additional networking opportunites pre-tournament to get the good vibes going pre-tournament. We are on it! Tournament Happy Hour(s) are in the works and this will be a great finale to the Summer Golf Season.
• FORMAT: We've done"Soccer Ball Scramble" & "Super Scramble!", and now we crank it up more with a Scramble w/a Twist Format! (see below for details)

Format: Scramble w/a Twist!

Players will be formed into 4-person scramble teams:

• Registered 4-player teams will keep their registered team
• 1 & 2-player entries will be combined for 4-player teams
• Awards will be given based on these scrambled teams

The Twist:

• Twist 1: 4 Random Holes will be used to create a "team handicap" for your team during play (e.g. holes 1,2,3 & 18). Using those a net champion and a gross champion will be crowned.
• Twist 2: Top 2 Scramble Teams will qualify for a final PLAYOFF HOLE to determine the overall champion

Team Creation:

• Program Planning Committee will put together full scramble groups to promote networking, fun, pace of play & fairness. Where possible, combined Groups scheduled to be announced ~2 weeks before tourney start date to allow for networking!.

• Registration will open on 7/2/26 at 9am via EVENTBRITE
• Intended audience for this event are: Family, friends, #club-apple-golfers and guests of 12G Newark Soccer

• Registrants may register themselves as:
• Single Player (we will match you with a team)
• 2-Players Half-Team (we will match you with a team)
• 4-Players Full Team

• Tournament Committee will form final teams

PAYMENTS

• Please pay via Venmo ($doctahgates) or Apple Cash to Korey Sewell (9518336040, [email protected]). Please include player names you are registering for
• You will recieve a confirmation and we will enter your name as CONFIRMED on the shared google doc (sent to registrants)
