Theatre VME and CJLO Present: The Big M Show; an evening of new music starring Marlaena Moore!The Big M Show’ is an hour-long theatrical special featuring all new music from local singer-songwriter Marlaena Moore. Over the course of 2026, ‘The Big M Show’ will be presented as a series of shows at Theatre VME, each with their own unique theme including dazzling set design and costumes, (perhaps some special guests will be stopping by as well?) ‘The Big M Show promises a fresh take on old school entertainment. Known for her soaring vocals and commanding stage presence, Marlaena Moore captivates her audiences with her unblinkingly vulnerable lyricism, her humour, but most of all her heart. A multi-hyphenate artist and musician from Edmonton living in Montreal, Moore first gained momentum with her second studio album, Gaze, which saw her open for Angel Olsen at Sled Island in 2016. Her 2020 album, Pay Attention, Be Amazed, produced by Chad VanGaalen found her a spot on Exclaim!’s 2020 “Artists to Watch” List.
In January 2025, Moore released Because You Love Everything to a sold-out La Sala Rossa in Montreal. Described by Exclaim! as a “a potent blend of bedroom pop, indie rock and soulful folk, The album went on to reach the number two spot on the national campus radio charts and has been a favourite of CBC Radio. In April 2025, Land of Talk enlisted Moore to open shows during their Canadian tour which spanned 11 cities across five provinces.
Moore's other venture's include co-producing Ribbon Skirt's Polaris Prize Nominated album "Bite Down," with her partner Scott "Monty" Munro and is currently working on a graphic novel with visual artist Jem Woolidge. She also performs improv and sketch regularly with Mile End Improv at Theatre VME
