Overview
LCANZ welcomes the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) professionals, designers, design stakeholders to our upcoming CoP/National Webinar/building capability program on Friday 25 October, at 10am, for THE BIG IDEA - What Lean Engineering Design can Learn from Agile? which is the first of the three-session program that has the objective of supporting the AEC industry, which is keen to find an innovative approach (such as Agile/Lean thinking and Last planner system) that has the potential to reduce waste in design engineering and maximise efficiency in their work.
The three sessions have been designed by SMECs Jared Chesterman, who is a senior design manager. The session will also provide opportunities for networking with AEC professionals and industry leaders. We are hopeful that these sessions will raise awareness of the use of innovative approaches in design management among construction professionals, and particularly among design engineers.

As a certified Lean Practitioner, Jared brings over 25 years of industry experience in major design consulting, evenly distributed across Australia and the UK. Currently serving as a Principal Project Manager in the rail sector, Jared's path to senior roles has been unconventional. Initially trained as a surveyor, he gained exposure to engineering consulting while working as a drafter in the UK. His innate problem-solving abilities, adeptness in engaging people, and skill in team building have created opportunities that led him to his current position.
