The Bat (improv form)

Improv in the Dark?! The unique form 'The Bat' takes place with the lights off and our listening-ears on. This audio-only format includes atmospheric soundscapes and improvised scenes to enchant an audience through what they hear and imagine.

Michael Jastroch will lead this class through the skills you need to improvise a full show with only your voices. The Bat is a fun form, a good exercise for expanding your improv performance capabilities, and a unique opportunity to try out a type of improv that lends itself to audio formats like podcasts or radio.

You should have taken at least one class in improv as a prerequisite for this class. It will meet for six weeks and there will be a final performance scheduled during the class run.

Class Schedule

Classes will be held from 6--7:30pm Mondays, August 31st- October 5th.

Students are eligible to attend shows during their active session for free; available tickets are released at 10 min prior to showtime.
